CAREER
Cantor Aaron Shifman received his Cantorial training under the tutelage of his father, Cantor Baruch Shifman, and his uncle, Cantor Yehuda Shifman. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Cantor Shifman was a soloist in his father’s choir from age 10 through his early teens. At 18, he led High Holy Day services at Beth Kodesh Synagogue of South Miami, Florida. From 1986-1988, he was Assistant Cantor and choir soloist at Temple Emanu-El of Greater Miami where he managed the B’nai Mitzvah program and conducted adult and children’s choirs. In 1989, at the age of 21, he served as the Cantor of Beth Moshe Congregation. Cantor Shifman was appointed Cantor of Congregation Beth Shalom of Coconut Creek, Florida, in 1996, before joining B’nai Jeshurun Congregation in 1998, in Cleveland, Ohio. Cantor Shifman has over 35 years of experience bringing music and enhanced programming to his congregations all over the world.
